Real World Terrain

You can use Meshery to search for public-domain terrain data from around the world.

  1. In the Map tab of your Meshery project, zoom to the area you want to capture.
  2. Click the filter_center_focus button, or hold shift while clicking the map to set the center of your capture area.
  3. Adjust the Course Size so it contains your full course in the capture area.

Terrain data must be a square, so you’ll want to drag and adjust to find the smallest square that fits your course within it.

  1. Select from available lidar data or global DEM coverage and click the Download button to start processing

    • Lidar will be more accurate (0.2 - 1m), but may require some clean up and smoothing.
    • DEM data will be less accurate (10 - 30m), but is mostly usable as is.

  2. When the data is completed processing, you can preview and edit it in the Terrain Editor.
