Garmin Approach R10

We have a direct bluetooth integration with the Garmin Approach R10 launch monitor. Below you’ll find instructions and troubleshooting tips for connecting your Approach R10 to OpenGolfSim.

Windows

To use the Garmin Approach R10 with a Windows computer, you’ll need to add the Approach R10 to your Windows bluetooth devices.

  1. On your Windows machine, open Systems Settings > Bluetooth
  2. Select Add Device > Bluetooth Device
  3. Turn the Approach R10 on in pairing mode (hold down the power button until the light turns blue)
  4. Select the Approach R10 when you see it in the list of devices. The device should briefly connect and then disconnect. This is normal, just make sure the device remains in your saved devices list in your Windows settings.

MacOS

To use the Garmin Approach R10 with a Windows computer, you should be able to simply follow the steps below in OpenGolfSim to scan and select the device.

OpenGolfSim Setup

To setup the Approach R10 as your primary OpenGolfSim launch monitor:

  1. Open OpenGolfSim Desktop and select Settings in the sidebar.

  2. Navigate to the Shot Data settings

  3. Click Change Launch Monitor and select Garmin Approach R10 from the list.

  4. OpenGolfSim should scan and display a list of nearby devices. When you see the device in the list select it and click continue.

  5. The device should now be setup and ready to send and receive shot data.

Once this initial setup is complete, OpenGolfSim should automatically find and connect to the device when turned on.
